A Curated List of New Free Crochet Patterns December Week 4

Hello my yarn loving friends!!

Did you survive the holidays? Whew, that came and went so fast this year.

I swear, the older I get the faster the years roll. I hope this doesn’t continue, or my years will feel like weeks!

That won’t get a lot of crocheting done at all.

How about 2018? You ready?

Do you keep New Years Resolutions? Notice I said keep? lol

I don’t usually make any but this year I did make a few. I’ll let you know what they are soon.

In the meantime, lets get to this weeks new free patterns, shall we?

Here’s what I found for you this week.

BOBBLES AND STRIPES BABY BLANKET

Although its fun to make little hats and outfits, it’s also nice to mindlessly crochet and not have to worry about shaping.  That’s what makes blankets so appealing to me.  You can easily customize the colors in this blanket by swapping out the pink for green, blue, yellow… whatever you like.

Borealis blanket

The motifs resemble little snowflakes in different colours of the Northern lights. The blanket is joined and bordered in white, making the colours stand out even more. The blanket measures 90 x 120 cm (35.5 x 47in) but is easily adaptable in size. The pattern contains written instructions and crochet diagrams, and is written in US terms. The Borealis Blanket is suitable for advanced beginners or intermediate crocheters.

Two simple granny hexagons are the foundation of this free crochet hexagon sweater pattern. Once they’re seamed in the back and shoulders, you’ll add rows of granny stitch lengthen the sweater, add longer sleeves, and  you’ll make a basic rectangular hood on the top to make your crochet hexagon sweater extra comfy and work a simple border around all the sweater edges.

This is a free crochet pattern that uses a super chunky yarn (or chunky, up to you!) and an oversized crochet hook. This helps to keep the chunky sweater chunky without suffocating you at the same time.

There are actually a ton of uses for them. Off the top of her head, she came up with gift topper, gift card holder, hanging decoration for home or office, tree decoration, fill them with candy for small children and I’m pretty sure the size is great for the tiny hands of 1 or 2-year-olds as actual gloves!

Fair Isle Snowflake Christmas Stocking

I have another Christmas stocking crochet pattern for you today from Petals to Picots.  I just love the festive snowflake design on this one.

See how much I love you? Lol! Weren’t those great? I hope at least one inspired you to make something beautiful with your time.  If not, at least you got to look at something pretty someone else made for a few minutes.

What do you like crocheting? What inspires you?

I like looking at textures and see if I can replicate them.  I also like blending colors, so photography inspires me too. Especially patterns.

Make it a beautiful week,

December week 3 New Free Crochet Patterns

A Curated List of New Free Crochet Patterns December Week 3

Hello my yarn loving friends,

Are you all ready for Christmas? I sure hope so!

I got done early this year. I’m finding it so much easier with the kiddos being older.

I do miss leaving out cookies for Santa and carrots for Rudolph, and leaving foot prints and “snow” and all the other fun things you get to do when you aren’t an empty nester.

I guess I will just have to look forward for grandkids someday.  Then Christmas will be much more fun again.

Anyway, that gives me more time to crochet!!

Did you check out the free crochet patterns from Week 1 or Week 2? How are you liking these weekly freebies? I would love to hear your thoughts,

Anyway, on to this week…  What we have here, in no particular order or category, is a nice list of lovingly and kindly curated New and Free Crochet patterns for your collections!
