I WON!!! And Now I Have a New Hobby – Bible / Faith Journaling!!
So I have been drooling over these group of ladies that are sharing God’s word through their art…IN their Bibles!
I admired their bravery to color and ink up their Bible for all to see!
This, after all, isn’t a crossword that I’m doing in (gasp) pen!
This is a BIBLE!
The most sacred of sacred books.
Just take a look at these AMAZING works of art!!
Not only is their artwork fabulous, but I a really drawn to the passion and detail in their work.
Guess What?!? I WON!!!
Woo Hoo!!!!! I couldn’t believe it! Isn’t that exciting?
And then I got my new bible in the mail! OMGoodness, this book is amazing!
You totally need one. Mine is from Family Christian Store
It is also available at Amazon
Anyway, somehow I was bold enough to jump right in and make my first page!! Yayy!! What do you think?
I will share what supplies I used below. Please know that some of the links on this page are affiliate links, which means, if you purchase from some of these companies, I will get a small commission, which allows me to keep working on this blog! Thank You so much!!
I read daily devotions from Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod and chose the devotion for September 30, entitled Truth.
If you are interested, you can read the devotion HERE.
The Passaged highlighted are
The paragraph in the devotion that spoke to me was:
“We look to the only true source of hope and help: the eternal Word made flesh. We look to Jesus. In him, and through faith in him, we find the answers we long for, the peace we ache for, the joy we desire and, above all, the forgiving love we so desperately need so that we can move forward in life without the burden of our sin, guilt and shame crushing our spirits!”
Wow! That is Truth!
I shortened the above paragraph to say:
Through Faith in Him, we find Answers we long for, Peace we ache for, the Joy we desire, and forgiving Love we need.
28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
The verse is one of my favorites and made me think of this restful scene of a hammock and palm trees.
This is one of those hobbies that doesn’t require a lot of expensive supplies. Don’t get me wrong, I could shop for days for fabulous pens, colored chalks, doodling books, etc. But, truth is, you can get started for almost nothing!
If you can’t purchase a journaling bible right now, use the one you have and doodle in the margins!
Here’s a Coupon for Your very own Journal Bible!!!!
I’m happy to let you know Family Christian has given me a coupon, $15 off $50 or more with coupon code PUMPKIN, to share with my readers today!!
Hurry!! It expires October 15!!
Be aware that many pens will bleed through the thinner pages of your bible. I tested a few, purchased a few, and tested those and now have a few I’m confident won’t show *much* on the other side of the page.
I really like the Pigma Micron Pens for outlining and lettering. For the coloring and highlighting, I used Prismacolor Nupastel Set, Prismacolor Verithin Colored Pencils, and Souffle 3-Dimensional Opaque Ink Pens.
Here’s a handy dandy list of supplies I used this time:
Thank you so much for spending time with me today!! I hope I was able to inspire you to do some creative journaling in your bible. I would really like that!
