Even though the Calendar says it’s fall, we are in the middle of a heat wave here in Southern California.

As i write this, it is 9 am, 81 degrees, and threatening to get hotter throughout the day.

Most houses here by the beach don’t have AC. We don’t usually need it. But this week, I daydream about being an employee somewhere that blasts the AC, instead of a blogger sitting here melting…

Just kidding! What I get to do everyday is totally worth the couple days a year working in a sauna! I wouldn’t change a thing!

But, I don’t mind if you send a breeze my way!

Anyway, despite the heat, I’m in the mood to decorate for fall! Who knows, perhaps I can encourage the weather gods to send me cooler temperatures.

Tara over at My Anything and Everything inspired me with her Updated Fall Mason Jar Vases

I really like the shabby rustic look!  The corn husks and dried flowers are such a great touch.

The best part is these flowers will last through Thanksgiving and beyond!

My favorite fall decoration so far has to be this display of small white pumpkins with the printable tags available from Kristen at Elle Claire Inspired.

She has some other free printables there for you but these were by far my favorite and I’m totally stealing it for my Thanksgiving table this year!

Thanks Kristen!! xoxo

I will either create the same look with a cheese board or perhaps print blank leaves and use the darling lil pumpkins for place cards!

This is a totally thrifty craft since the pumpkins are 2 for $1 at my market and I can print the tags on grocery bags (We don’t use plastic bags by the beach).

We have bamboo and eucalyptus trees around to pull greenery from. Voila!

I’m currently in the process of making these darling little crocheted pumpkins! They work up quickly and you can use cotton from your stash!

I wanted a rustic look so I am using cotton twine from the Dollar Store with a G hook and they look awesome!

Katie over at Casual Craftlete used chalk paint to create these elegant and vintage looking lovelies.

Turns out these are just floral picks from the floral department at the craft store, painted with chalk paint. They look so real!

She arranged them in a nice white bowl with acorns and greens. So cute and so easy!

Get out some scrap wood and get ready to be inspired by Angela over at Simply Beautiful who made this darling sign for her mudroom with a little paint, wood stain, and burlap!

Isn’t it so cute? Another one to add to your easy fall crafts!

Erin over at Nest for Less used Photoshop to make this darling printable Thanksgiving Subway Art. This would be a cute addition to a mantel or side table!
